Students have recently been awarded the February Challenge Cup in the secondary school division in a new All-Ireland Maths competition. The school is currently Leinster’s best placed school and also holds the first place nationally. The students were among the early pace setters in the MATHletes Challenge 2014 and won both the February and March competitions. Such was the importance of the school’s achievement so far, that Minister of State at the Department of Education and Skills, Ciaran Cannon T.D. visited and presented the Cup to students on 13th March.  TV3 interviewed the mathletes as part of Late Lunch Live (27th March) and this can be seen here.

In the MATHletes challenge, students will compete online and face-to-face in county and provincial finals, with top scorers advancing to the national finals, which are scheduled to take place in early May.
