Thank you to Ms. Hand who presented an online learning checklist to our Second Year students at their recent assembly. The checklist is designed to help students to organise their day for remote learning through maintaining structure and taking well-earned breaks for wellbeing. The closing date for registration for the State Examinations November 2020 has been extended from 5 p.m. on Friday 2nd October to 5 p.m. on Wednesday 7th October. The examinations will commence on Monday 16th November and conclude on Saturday 28th November (LCA), Monday 30th November (JC) and Friday 11th December (LC). The exams will take place every evening from Monday to Friday at 5.30 p.m. and two exam sessions every Saturday and Sunday at 9.30 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. The results from these examinations are expected in February 2021 at the earliest. TY Graduation On Wednesday 20th May, Fingal CC hosted its first virtual graduation to say goodbye to our TY class of 2020. Organised and led by TY Coordinator Ms Lynch and TY Year Head Mr Burke, it was a fabulous end to the year looking back at what has been a packed TY programme. Dear Student/Parent/Guardian The decision has been taken by Government to postpone the Leaving Certificate examinations for 2020 and to offer students a system of Calculated Grades in its place. This includes the traditional Leaving Certificate, and the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme All students will be given the option to receive a State Certificate of Calculated Grades in each subject that they have studied. The calculated grades model will have the same status as Leaving Certificate results awarded to students in previous years, but students will also have the opportunity to sit the conventional Leaving Certificate examination, if they wish.
