2nd Years chatting and enjoying their lunch.
On Friday the 29th of January, students, teachers and parents were treated to a sit down lunch as a celebration of the wonderful efforts made by all at a recent Parents’ Association fundraising activity. A massive €3,381 was raised before Christmas at the annual bag packing event in Dunnes Stores in the Pavilion, Swords. The money raised will go towards the promotion of Healthy Lifestyles and the development of the extensive extra-curricular programme available at the college.
Two classrooms were transformed into a restaurant by the Art teacher Ms. Lynch and the food was prepared by the Home Economics teacher Ms. Héarún and her team of Transition Year chefs Ciarán, Seán, Moses and Marcus. “Weeks and weeks of planning and preparation went into this event but with the help of many students along the way, over 75 people experienced a healthy homemade lunch” (Ms. Héarún).
Students, parents and teachers enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the chance to chat and appreciate good food after a busy week. Many thanks to all who attended and helped with the fundraising event.
