Wellbeing Week 2018

On Wednesday 21st, Wellbeing Week 2018 kicked off with students receiving colourful wristbands with the indicators of Wellbeing under the new Junior Cycle: Resilient, Connected, Respected, Active, Aware and Responsible.

On the same day, students also took part in a World Heritage Event (see individual post) to reinforce the indicators of Connected and Respected, as well as celebrating the culturally rich student population in Fingal CC.

Teachers were not forgotten during Wellbeing Week as Wednesday was the first day of our Teacher’s Step Challenge (see Spraoi Rith post for the winner!) while our local Thunders Bakery on Swords Main Street supplied some delicious treats for the staff room free of charge! Yum!

On Thursday, our 2nd years took part in an Easter Egg Hunt organized by the Sports Council and we had three fantastic winning teams (pictured below).

Our 5th years took part in Mindfulness training with Dr. Orlaith O’Sullivan on Thursday afternoon which they engaged with very well, so much so that some of the students fell asleep! Our 6th years also took their mind off exams pressure with a coffee morning and an opportunity to talk and relax.

Friday was the last day of our Wellbeing Week, finishing off with a Spraoi Rith with 1st years (see individual post).

A huge thank you to the Wellbeing Committee, the PE Department (Mr. Moore, Ms. Hennelly & Ms. Mahony), TY students and the Sports Council for pulling off such a positive initiative in such a short space of time. What a fantastic way to end the term!
